DASH game and Butterfly Farm field trips

Kimmel Farm was lucky enough to be able to take the entire school to a DASH game - we had a ball! For some it was their first experience at a ball game and they are still talking about. The students were very well-behaved so I treated them to Cotton Candy :)

The week after a fun baseball game we headed to the Butterfly Farm for an experience like nothing else - some were scared, some were worried and some were excited. Once everyone stepped into the butterfly house their minds were at ease and they were AMAZED! We played, ate lunch and learned all about butterflies!

Sound

Do you hear what I hear? pitch - vibration - sounds waves...we learned it all!! We started with a sound walk inside and outside, we then discussed what we heard and presented the information.

We listened and watched how rulers vibrated and the kids were amazed at the way that sound waves traveled from tuning forks. Mrs. Krivsky spent a few weeks leading the students through many more experiments as well learning about the parts of the ear!
